Pastoral Care
At Holy Trinity CE Primary Academy, pastoral care is at the heart of who we are. Guided by our Christian vision— “To reflect the heart of God by showing compassion and caring for all”—we are committed to nurturing the whole child: emotionally, socially, spiritually, and academically. Additionally, our central tenet of CARE ‘cura personalis’ resonates throughout the life of the school.
We believe that every child will thrive when they feel safe, seen, and supported. Our pastoral team works closely with pupils, families, and staff to promote wellbeing, build positive relationships, and provide guidance through both challenges and successes. Together, we foster a culture of respect, empathy, encouragement, and accountability—ensuring that every child is equipped not only to succeed in school, but to grow in confidence, resilience, independence, and character.
Our Pastoral Team

Miss N. Khan – Pastoral Manager & Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)
Miss Khan leads our pastoral provision with compassion and clarity. She supports pupils daily through emotional check-ins, conflict resolution, and family liaison. As DSL, she ensures safeguarding is embedded in every aspect of school life.

Mr C. Shaw – Sports Apprentice
Mr Shaw supports the physical and emotional wellbeing of our pupils through active play, structured sports, and positive role modelling. He helps children build confidence, teamwork, and resilience through movement and mentorship.
Student Social Worker
Holy Trinity Primary Academy acts as a host school to student social workers. Our student social worker brings a professional lens to family support and pupil welfare. They work with external agencies and provides targeted interventions to ensure every child has the tools they need to flourish.
Pastoral Care at Holy Trinity
Social Support
We promote positive relationships rooted in kindness, mutual respect, and open communication. Our pastoral team helps children navigate friendships, resolve conflict constructively, and develop the social skills they need to thrive in a diverse and inclusive community.

The conduct and relational attitudes of our children are recognised and awarded on a weekly basis by our Pastoral Assistant – Miss N. Khan. This is awarded to our children who exemplify care, kindness and compassion to members of our school community throughout the week.
Emotional Support
Our Care Lounge is a safe and welcoming space where pupils can speak openly and be heard. We operate an open-door policy—no worry is too small. Through strong partnerships with families and the wider community, we ensure that every child knows they are never alone. This emotional support builds the resilience and confidence children need to flourish beyond the classroom.
Mental Health & Wellbeing
We take a proactive approach to mental health. Whether it’s a friendship fallout or academic pressure, our team listens, supports, and equips pupils with coping strategies, self-care tools, and conflict resolution skills. Where needed, we signpost to external services to ensure every child receives the right support at the right time.
Family Engagement
We believe that strong relationships with families are key to pupil success. Our pastoral assistant acts as a family support worker, building trust and offering guidance. Holy Trinity is more than a school—it is a community, and we welcome families as partners in every child’s journey.
Support Services
Our pastoral team works closely with external agencies to provide wraparound care. From SEND support and counselling to social care and community groups, we ensure that families are connected to the services they need to thrive.
At Holy Trinity, our pastoral care reflects our values of Community, Aspiration, Respect, and Excellence. These values guide every conversation, every act of care, and every decision we make—ensuring that all children are supported to grow into confident, compassionate, and capable individuals.
